Exploring.....Boundaries

Emilee has become quite mobile, (still has no interest in walking ) and is now starting to assert herself and get into everything!! Here are a few examples...

Here is the scene that greeted me one morning after I left her alone for two seconds to answer the phone. Notice the empty white basket on it's side and ALL of the toys everywhere. She was so proud of herself.

Please take note of the green body pillow that is stretched across the entrance from the living room to the kitchen. Emilee is a lover of moving bar stools and so the pillow was used as a barrier to keep her in the living room. She could have totally crawled over it weeks ago, but she is a cautious kid and didn't try it until last week. Drat!!

And guess what she went to first...the barstools!! She's a fast one for being so "healthy."

She has also begun to take a more "active" role in what she wants to eat for dinner. As you can see from the picture above, apparently tomatoes were not on the menu for her that night. David was suppose to be watching her - ahem - and when I walked over to see what she was doing she had thrown every single piece of that blasted tomato onto the kitchen floor and had even projected several into the living room. Stinker!!

This is the face that I got when I asked her what she was doing. She was apparently unfazed by the tomato drama and was awaiting her next course. Classic.

Gone With the Wind

Emilee has never really been a big fan of the wind. It makes her suck in her breath and stop breathing!! However, two weeks ago when it was 80 degrees outside I decided to have her give the wind a second chance.

Not really liking it so far. Notice the closed eyes and the hands holding on for dear life.
Now we're having fun!!
Emilee and the wind have been on good terms ever since...

Splish Splash

Emilee loves her bath time. What cracks me up the most is that the silver plate under the faucet is reflective, and so Em gets to take a bath with her "best friend" who happens to make the same silly faces that she does.

Jen -as you can see she loves the bath book!!

Virginia is for Lovers

Krista - I hope you appreciate this entry!!

Our ward held a Valentine's dance last weekend and so we dropped Em off with Chris and Debbie and danced the night away. We couldn't figure out what to wear, and then I remembered the Virginia state motto, and that Dave and I both own t-shirts containing said motto.(courtesy of K-ta)

I at the time was sick and on several cold and allergy medications, so I thought it would be heee-larious to wear them to the dance. Just goes to show that sudafed does in fact impair your judgement. Apparently we were supposed to dress like we were going to our prom...oops! Let's just say that some people got it and some people didn't. Oh well, we had a good time...

Dave's 30th B-day Party

David turned 30 on Christmas, and as he had surgery at the beginning of December, I decided to schedule a surprise birthday party the weekend before he went into surgery. He was totally caught off guard because I told him we would do something in January after he had recovered from his latest cutting. Special thanks to Val for hosting and letting me stash food and decorations at her house all week, and take up all her fridge space with the cake!!

Cheaters Never Win...

Loved the fact that the cheaters didn't win the Super Bowl last night even though everyone thought they would. The last two minutes of the game were great and it was nice to see Eli win the Super Bowl. Especially because his brother has a ring and it would be no fun to not have one when your brother did. Meant to take the camera last night to record Em's second Super Bowl party but forgot. Here is a picture from her first Papa John Super Bowl party when she was really tiny. She's still tiny now, but that's just because she's in the 10% for her height!!
