As many of you probably know, fourth of July 2007 was kinda a mess for us. David has a history of becoming freakishly ill on Thanksgiving, so when we found ourselves in the ER last year with him not being able to breathe, on yet another holiday, I thought this had to be some kind of sick joke. Last year we spent the 4th of July ( and the next 5 days) here - in the lovely ICU.
Which then resulted in this:
Two major surgeries, 3 hospitalizations, 7 months of IV antibiotics, and a full year of oral antibiotics. He took his last antibiotic on July 3, 2008! Yippee!!

We didn't make any real plans for the 4th because we were anxious there was going to be a repeat. Dave also has a history of doing a one year relapse, but it looks like he has broken the curse - knock on wood. This 4th of July David is healthy, Emilee is a big sister, and Wesley has joined the family. What a difference a year makes!

Yeah! You made it through another holiday free and clear! :) Okay, here's the plan, take some whiteout to your calendar ....delete every holiday on there. No more sickness! :) Dave, glad you're doing much better. You're right, what a difference a year makes! We love you!
