...The Backyardigans!
Emilee loves the show The Backyardigans and will run from any corner of the house to the living room when she hears their theme song play. Which has actually been quite handy with Wes, because I am usually stuck on the couch holding him trying not to move and wake him up. When I can't hear where she is and I'm not sure what she is getting into, I use their theme song as my last resort to summon her to me. David surprised her one day and brought her home Pablo, and he has been her best buddy ever since.
They go everywhere together! Please note that Em is only allowed her binky at nap and bedtime. However, she is clever and throws (hides) her binky out of her crib before I get her up. After she is out of bed and I am busy doing something else, she will sneak back in her room and retrieve the hidden binky. Please also take note of her shoes - toddler Vans courtesy of counsin/aunt Jen! Love them!
Here she is with her Pablo once again and her little music pod that plays songs from the Backyardigans. I don't know what we were thinking when we bought that!
Em has Daddy wrapped around her chubby little finger. She convinced him to get her Uniqua while they were out running errands. Lucky girl!
Here she is with her two buddies!
This picture cracks me up for several reasons. The main one being that I had just placed this blanket on the floor for Wes so he could get some tummy time in, and as I turn to get him off the couch, little Em plants her rump right in the middle and is so pleased with herself she can hardly stand it.
She then precedes to flap the sides of the blanket back and forth wanting it to take flight... Needless to say Wes had to wait for his tummy time.
Here he is finally on the floor all by himself.
This is my favorite! He's asleep after downing his bottle and I'm not holding him!!! This is huge as David has been out of town all week and Emilee started throwing up Wednesday morning. It has been quite the juggling act trying to keep these two happy. David gets home tonight and I am so ready for a break. Whew!

you can call me anytime, seriously. i'm 2 streets away and pretty much always home.
emilee cracks me up. that girl has so much personality!! we had the backyarigans music thingie too but (ooops) forgot to replace the batteries when they died. i think i could still sing all the songs, though.
daddies who spoil their little girls are the BEST. I remember telling dylan at one point, that he couldn't buy claire something every time they went to the store, or she would start expecting it. needless to say, i don't think i can walk into a store w/out claire saying what are you going to buy me???
You poor thing! I hope ya get a break soon!
EM is ADORABLE...and I love the fact that you Summon her with that song...that is priceless!
That should be a m/c commercial.....
Dish TV $70 a month
Pablo $7.99
Uniqua $7.99
Being able to summon your toddler when stuck immobile with the newborn--
PRICELESS!
I just love watching Em come into her personality! I'll admit, I don't half mind that Backyardigans song myself ;)...although I may not come running when I hear it! Sorry to hear Emmers has been sick again. Never a dull moment!!!
You just need to call me and I'll come take a child. You pick which one. Emily is so adorable...and I would of bought Uniqua too, she is pretty cute. I don't know the Backyardigan's, my kids watched tv in the Blue's Clues era.
Oh, please call us to come play with the kids to give you a break. The Madden crew are always up to play with the school of fish at your house! :) I have no idea what the Backyardigans - Brittany loved Barney and Courtney loved the Telle Tubbies. I am very glad that they have outgrown those things!
They look sooooo cute!!!
Okay, can you blame her? The Backyardigans rock.
And, yeah, Leah can get Dan to do anything. And vice versa really.
Call me for a break. Seriously. You know I LOVE your kids...and I swear I'll make Jackson play nice (I don't sit back and watch him like Dan does!)
